The website societyinmotion.org, hereinafter referred to as the «site», is the exclusive property of Société de transport de Montréal, hereinafter referred to as the «STM».
The contents of the site as well as its subsequent use are governed by the laws in effect in the province of Québec, and any cause of action comes under the jurisdiction of Montréal’s judicial district.

Contents of site

Data and information provided by the STM and posted on the site are deemed reliable at the time of posting, not subsequently. Despite its best efforts, the STM cannot guarantee they are accurate or complete and that they are updated at all times.

Copyrights and reproduction

Displaying, reproducing and downloading any contents from the site is not authorized in whole or in part without the STM’s express, written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use by internet users and on condition that used contents not be modified.
Should someone use any information contained in the website, for personal and non commercial use, said person must indicate their source by including the following note, regardless of the type of medium that will serve to publish the information gathered from the STM website: “Portions of these contents are from the STM website”.
Certain names, words, titles, expressions, logos, icons or pictograms in the pages of the site can be trademarks belonging to the STM or to a third party. Any use of a trademark without proper authorization by its owner is strictly forbidden.

Personal information

The purpose of this site is not to collect personal information and navigating the site is anonymous. However, should a situation call for the collection and/or use of personal information, the STM will notify the person involved and will obtain proper authorization prior to collecting or using said information. Moreover, the STM will not disclose any personal information obtained in this manner, except with that person’s consent or when required to do so by law.

Charter and regulations for use

1. Purpose of blog

The purpose of this blog is to create a forum where certain subjects related to the STM’s activities and mission can be discussed openly and responsibly.
By accessing this blog, you agree to restrict yourself to the subjects proposed by the blog administrator, hereinafter referred to as the « Administrator ».

2. Identification

To take part in this blog, you must identify yourself by providing your first and last names or pseudonym, as well as a valid email address (optional) if, eventually, you want your messages to be answered. By accessing this blog, you agree to having this information posted with each one of your messages.
None of that information is sold, leased, exchanged or transmitted by the STM, who will only use that information to contact you. However, as the information will be posted on the blog, the Administrator cannot guarantee it will not be used by a third party.

3. Forum moderator

Messages posted on this blog will be published in real time. However, this blog has an word censoring system for the purpose of preventing the publication of messages that do not comply with the rules set out in this Charter.
Also, after publishing a message, the Administrator can modify it or remove it in whole or in part, if its contents contravene the requirements in this Charter or any laws or regulations, or for any other reasonable motive.
However, despite the diligence of the Administrator, if certain messages or comments find their way to the blog, you are invited to report them using the box provided to that end.
The Administrator can exclude any participant from the blog if participant flagrantly or repeatedly disregards the blog’s Charter.

4. Writing rules

It is strictly forbidden to publish messages that are injurious, obscene, vulgar, libellous, threatening, racist, aggressive, of a sexual nature or any other remarks of a similar nature.
Moreover, by accessing this blog, you agree not to publish any messages with contents that:

- Infringe upon any laws pertaining to copyrights;

- Contain a computer virus or any other type of code, file or programme designed to intercept information, damage, interrupt or otherwise limit the operation of this blog or of any other computer equipment required to operate the blog;

- Contain any advertising or promotional solicitation.

5. Responsibility for messages

By accessing and/or participating in this blog, you acknowledge that published messages express the opinions of their authors and not of the STM.
Consequently, the STM cannot be held responsible for any prejudice of any nature, caused to anyone through the publication of message contents on the blog.

6. Language of messages

As the STM is subject to Québec French language laws, it must draw attention to the following rules:

- On the French blog, messages, posted subjects and any answers to them must be written in French only.

- On the English blog, messages, posted subjects and any answers to them must be written in English only. However, blog Administrator is not required to answer in English

7. Protection of personal information

The purpose of this blog is not to collect or use any personal information about internet users; blog access and participation can be anonymous. The STM will only use your name, if provided at time of registration, and email address in order to answer any suggestions or proposals submitted by internet users.

8. Rules for good behaviour

In order to ensure a cordial atmosphere conducive to dialog and communication, the following actions are strictly forbidden:

- Sending in the same message repeatedly (flooding) is forbidden.

- Writing in uppercase letters and/or phonetics or SMS.
