STM - Society in motion
De Castelnau station on the night

A team of workers was bustling about well before the filming began…
To get the station ready for some twenty members of the film crew and ten or so extras, STM employees undertook a very detailed process to:
• replace the neon lights on the ceiling to improve lighting, all in record time
• wash the métro cars, by hand, to make them look good on screen, with even the interior carefully polished!
• make sure that the métro car rented for the shoot displayed the STM’s new logo
• carry out some twenty runs back and forth in the wee hours of the morning to ensure perfect synchronization – what patience from our métro operator
• ensure that clients could circulate easily, as a message had been issued during the evening and clients did not want to miss their métro
• supervise the safe arrival of all the film equipment
• reassure clients who were astonished to see so many people and so much film equipment in their station, a role that the fare collectors and station managers took on with pleasure
• perform miracles to orchestrate the comings and goings of the various technical crews (electricians, specialized personnel, fire prevention, cleaners, reservation of a métro car and control centre information), thanks to the diligent work of an exceptional co-ordinator
• replace the advertising posters on the platform with ads for the STM
• install the symbol authorizing the guitarist’s appearance (the lyre)
An inspired producer had the young actor say: Le métro, c’est sua coche ! It wasn’t planned in the original script!
A tree-planting team…
The vibrant illustrations that came to life during the filming were cut from foamcore and printed with environmentally friendly inks! Recyclable paper, solvent-free vegetable ink and solvent-free glue were used in the printing! These inspiring creations will be reused at STM events throughout the year.
